A little bit of sewing and creating

Hello Everyone,
I have been busy crafting and sewing lately. The biggest problem
with me crafting and sewing I really don't have the space to keep
all my machines in a particular space of thier own. Every time I am
going to sew I need to bring out the sewing machine clear off a spot
and make my project. When i'm done then the machine gets put away.
Wish I had a craft space like the many you see video taped on Youtube.
The same goes for the sreger, and the Cricut. The picture is a Panda
quilt made to lay on the floor. It is so soft and very big. .....LOL... I'm
still trying to figure out my new photo program so forgive me for not
so favorable pictures. In the next picture is a wooden heart that I covered with a velvet
type of fabric and added some embellishments. I like how it turned
out. Here is an apron that is a size small but I need to find a couple
of kids to model them for me so that everyone can have a better
idea of the size. This one is a size medium. See the monkeys on the first apron and
the second one has ants on it. I have other things that I have done and will be blogging about
them soon. I just didn't want to give anyone a brain overload.
LOL ...... especially since I haven't blogged for a week or better.
Hope everyone is having a Splendid Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been Crafting

Hello Everyone,
Yes I have been busy crafting even though I have not been blogging
lately about it. In the header picture is a scrapbooking page that I
did for a contest at one of my local scrapbooking stores. I won second
place for it. The store has a contest every month. I just finished the
page for this months contest and got it in to the store the other day.
I forgot to take a picture of it before I took it in. .....LOL........ I guess
I'll get a picture of it when I get it back in April.
The next two pictures are of a technique that I was playing with on
ribbon. The pictures don't do it justice. I will try and get some betters
pictures of the ribbon later today. Maybe I'll try it on bigger ribbon
and maybe on lighter colored ribbon. Hmmmmm we'll see what I get
done today.
In the pictures below is some different flowers done with different
techniques and mediums. I like how the cardstock ones came out.
I really like the look of the red one but that one was a little harder
to work with. I think it is because of the gold foiled covered cardstock.
It was a little stiff.
I like the look of the two large flowers but they are a little to big for
cards. Most likely they will be used on a scarpbooking page. I don't
think I will be making many of the large ones. Oh well .....LOL....... I also finished my tutorial for Toucan Scraps Blog. If you would like
to check it out follow the link below.
I have been busy with my dad but manage to get in a little bit of
crafting time in. There are some other things that I have been
working on and hopefully I can get that posted in the next few days.
Hope everyone is having a splendid day so far.
Keep crafting and stay happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aging Parents

Hello Everyone,
I know it's been a while since my last post. I have been busy trying
to handle life and all that lands on my plate. I've been working on
doing our taxes which are now done. Wheew!!! The other thing that
I have been dealing with is my aging dad. The header picture kind
of tells the story. A painting called "We Need To Talk" done by
Dyanne of DyanneParkerArt. Dyanne does some beautiful work.
Visit her shop if you get a chance. http://www.etsy.com/shop/DyanneParkerArt?ref=seller_info . My dad, I believe I have told you this once before,
can not read or write. He takes seven prescription medications. I
have come up with a system so that when he is getting low on his
meds he can let me know which ones I need to get refilled. All
his medication bottles are marked with a color and I have a note
card that I have written down the medication and coordinating
color. I get my dad all set with his meds and then a couple of months
pass by and he thinks that he can take care of it himself. He then
gets all of his meds so mixed up and starts feeling bad.
I wish that dad would just understand that he really needs my hand
and that he would just let me take his hand and guide him with his meds
that can make a difference between life and death. The next picture is
of aging hands that look fo frail to me. The aging hands come from
GaProps they have an etsy shop.http://www.etsy.com/shop/GaProps I once again took over and straightened out my dad and his meds.
It wasn't fun or easy. My dad did a lot of yelling at me and the
pharmasist. I had to do a lot of yelling back it wasn't easy for me
to do that but I had to get him to understand that dad can't have
other poeple help him like my uncle or my brother cause they
don't mark the bottles and when dad calls me to get him his
refills i'm not sure if what i'm getting refilled is right. My brother
who lives here in the same town is another story all together and
no help what so ever. A couple of dads pills almost look the same
and the color is almost the same on a couple of his pills but if you
put them next to each other you can actually see a little shade
difference and even a little size difference. I also left a note card
at my dads house and markers to mark the bottles now too.
If only dad and I could just come close to the next picture. To
sit and just have a calm conversation like to old friends. The
picture below comes from YdnarImaging another etsy shop.
Hopefully now I can get into working on something crafty now that
the spare room/ craft room is clean cause my son will be here this
weekend. I do have several projects in the works maybe now I can
get them finished and posted. I'm looking forward to seeing my middle
child. Maybe later this year I'll take a vacation and go visit my daughter.
A small break away from all this craziness.
Hope you are all having A Splendid Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
