LIIU Distressing (Challenge #22)

Hello again everyone,
Wow isn't it amazing two posts from me today...LOL... April first starts
a new challenge for our design team at Lets' Ink It Up. Challenge #22
is Distressing. In my header picture is a tag that I made. Honestly this
tag I was working on for a tag swap and I wasn't real pleased with the way
it was truning out. The swappers are getting a different rendition. Anyway,
this tag I glitter misted with home made glitter mist, then distressed it both
physically and with distress ink. I then stamped it and ink distressed the
butterflies and some of the leafy / feather looking items on it. Below are
a couple more pictures.
Here is a close up of the stamped image.
I hope that this will inspire you to join us at LIIU for our distressing
challenge. To join in the link is below.
Make sure that you visit the rest of the design team. There is some really
beautiful work and inspiration.

Jackie of All Trades

Good Morning Everyone, Hope everyone is doing well today. I myself am doing good just a little tired and stressed, but by this weekend things should slow down. As I have said before I work in a variety of mediums. In my header picture is a flower arrangement that I made for the Miss Warden Pagent. I actually made two.
I have also been working on an arch way. Not done with it yet but I should
have it done today.
There is all the back drop for the stage that I am working on. Like I
said before I'm a Jackie of all trades .......LOL.... (didn't like jack of all
trades since I am female so I call it Jackie). After Saturday I can post
all the pictures of the stage. I want everyone that will be at the program
to see everything first before I post it on here. I guess I haven't
mentioned this before but my blog is on our cities web site so I know
that alot of our community reads what I write. Anyway I thought I
would give everyone a little peek.
Now don't forget that Hiding In My Craft Room has a new challenge.
The Hideous Paper Challenge if you would like to join in follow the link below.

Good Morning Everyone,
I hope that everyone is doing well. I am really busy right now creating. I
have a couple of designs that I'm working on for the design teams. I have
all but one of the scrapbooks finished out of eight that I am working on.
In the header picture is two of them. I will post pictures of them completely
finished when everyone gets theirs. I don't want to ruin the surprise.
Some of the other things that I have been working on is decorating the stage
for the Miss Warden program. I also worked on a dance number for the
contestants. I have been at almost all the practices so its been a little crazy
around here. Saturday is the big night for the five girls and then maybe I
can relax a little......LOL......I really don't think that will ever happen.
In the pictures below are some of the tags that I received from the tag swap
I do monthly.
Aren't they gorgeous?
A lot of work and time put into them. The ladies in the swap do such
beautiful work. I will post some more later.
Please don't forget to join the challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room.
If you would like to join in on the Hideous Paper Challenge
there is still time to join in on this one.
Lets Ink It Up will start a new challenge on the 1st of April, hope you join us.

My love of cardstock

Good Morning Fellow Bloggers, Hope everyone is doing well. As we all know spring is officially here. At least that is what is being said but in our neck of the woods I think that it feels more like fall. As i'm trying to get myself into the spirit of spring I was out shopping, looking for things that would make me feel like spring was here I found some cardstock that I fell in love with. No I do not work for DCWV so this is not an attempt to get you to buy anything. This is just me sharing. In my header picture is the Le Tres Chic stack. In the next couple of pictures are a couple of pages that I think are just gorgeous.
The pages were a little hard to take photos of because of the glitter but
I just wanted to let everyone get a look of some of the pages.
Aren't they beautiful? Now for me to figure out what I'm going to create
with them.
Please don't forget the challenges that are going on and join us.
Hiding In My Craft Room has KISS ( Keep ItSimple Sweetie ) Challenge
and over at Lets Ink It Up the challenge there ends at the end of the month. Challenge Show Us Your Flowers. http://letsinkitup.blogspot.com/2012/03/challenge-21.html

Busy as a Bee

Good Morning Everyone,
Hope to find everyone doing well. I have been very busy lately. Like some
would say busy as a bee. I know that it may not seem like it when I don't
post what I have been doing. The thing is that I can't show you some of the
things that I have been working on because some of it has to do with the
design teams that I'm on and are set to post on certain days. Another reason
is that I would like for the person or persons receiving it not to read about
it before they receive it. In my header picture is a couple of scrapbbook
albums that I have been working on. I have a total of six that are just about
finished and the owners of them won't get them until March 30th. Then is
when I will blog about them. In the next picture you will see some tags.
This actually an old photo. Just about every month I get in on a tag swap
that Velma Griffen hosts. I just finished the twenty tags for that and need
to get them in the mail.
Then there is something completely different that I'm working on and that
project will probably be months down the road before I can even show you.
There is a very lengthy process to that one. Along with all this I have been
working with five very lovely, talented, young ladies that are running for
Miss Warden. I have been working on stage decorations and I can't show
any of that till after the 30th of March. I know how mean to have to wait
till the end of the month to see everything I have been up to but tomorrow
I will have a new card because we start a new challenge over at Hiding In
My Craft Room so come back and join in.
Don't forget you still have time to enter this weeks challenge at HIMCR
Super Scrap Saturday.
and over at Lets Ink It Up the challenge there ends at the end of the
month. Challenge Show Us Your Flowers.
Until my next post Have a Splendid Day!!!!!!

Organizational Tips

Hello Everyone, Hope everyone is doing well. The other day I did my challenge for Hiding In My Craft Room that had to do with using our scraps and I showed everyone how I kept my scraps organized. I had a few requests to share some of my other craft organizational skills that I may have....LOL... I truely don't think that I have that great of organizational skills but since some of you seem to think I do and asked me to share here it is. In my header picture is how I try and keep flowers organized. I have them in a clear container and try to keep them color coordinated. In the next picture I put all my fibers in what most cross stitchers use to store their embroidery floss.
It's a clear box with a lid like pictured below. I have two of these boxes.
The other one is full. This works really good if you go to crop nights. All
the fibers are contained and nicely put on what is called a cardstock spool.
Most of my organizing is because I have very limited space. Hope it gives
others ideas as how to think outside the box and figure creative ways to
store and organize.
Please don't forget to join the challenge #37 Super Scrap Saturday
You have till friday to join in.
Also don't forget to join Lets Ink It Up for their challenge #21
Show Us You Flowers
You have till the end of the month for this one.
Until my next post Have a Splendid Evening!!!!!!!!

HIMCR Challenge #37 Super Scrap Saturday

Hello Everyone,
Hope everyone is doing well this beautiful weekend. Today we start a
new challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room. The challenge this week,
the 2nd week of the month, is SUPER SCRAPS SATURDAY! So dig out
those scraps and create any paper project. You have until Friday, March
16th to link up your creation for this challenge and to get entered into the
monthly drawing (still not pictured and posted, so sorry!). When
uploading to online galleries please use code HIMCR37. In my header
picture is what I came up with. The next picture is a binder that holds all
my scraps.
I try to use every single scrap and if you look closely at the pictures
below you can see where some of the scraps have images cut out.
I will use border and flower punches to get the most out of my scraps.
When I was told our challenge was to use our scraps I went straight for
my binder.
Just a few guidelines:
1. The current weekly challenge linky will be up until Friday night at midnight
MST. Be sure and link your creation back to the actual post and not just your
blog home page.
2. When posting your creation on your blog or online gallery please link it back
to this challenge. This helps me to spread the word and the FUN!
3. Please create something new for the current challenge and NOT use something
you've made previously. However, you can combine a HIMCR challenge with
other challenges. It is always fun to complete more than one challenge at a time!
4. The winner of the monthly giveaway will be posted the 8th of the following
month!
5. Have FUN!!
Card Recipe:
Fiskars rubber stamps ( Girls Night)
Bazzil cardstock
DCWV Holiday Collection paper
DCWV the Ultimate premium stock
Lavender shear ribbon
Decorative scissors
Stazon ink
I hope that you will join us. Until my next post Have a Splendid
Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Everyone,
Hope everyone is doing well. Today the wonderful and talented Deb from
The Wug's Backyard awarded me the Versatile Blogger award. At first when
I read her blog I thought why would she give me such an award but as I
read her blog I understood why. And I stole a little of her words but I know
she won't mind....LOL....
The rules of the award are, first don't forget to take your award! Then the
rules say that I'm supposed to share with you 7 random facts about myself,
and then pass the award on to 15 other blogs that I feel merit this honor...
So, here goes, seven random facts about me....besides the tons of random,
useless facts I've already told you in the past...whether you wanted to know
them or not!! LOL
1 I love to take pictures but i'm a little shy of showing them to anyone
In my header picture is one and below are a couple of others.Bridal
Veil Falls I took this picture in the early 80's when we lived in
Stevenson WA. The picture has gotten a little damaged over the
years. I found the negative recently I just have to get it processed
again.
Next is a sunset that I just thought was beautiful so I had to take a
shot of it.
2 I like the outdoors but I hate getting dirty. This is more like a quirk
of mine. If i'm going sight seeing like to the falls or Crater Lake I am
there to take in all the beauty and not to get dirty. But if I'm
working in the garden that's different.
3. I am a baton twirler. I started taking lessons when I was about
twelve years old and still continue twirling the baton. It has
really changed since back then and I have managed to keep up
with all the new tricks of that trade. See picture below.
4. I love to ride Harleys' so yes I am a biker momma....LOL..... I
miss all of our riding buddies in Oregon. I have also been to a few
biker rallies. See picture below. I like to ride on the back of my
husbands harley more than driving one, and yes I can fall alseep
while riding on the back of my husbands.
5. I really don't like getting my picture taken. I have posed for a couple
friend photographers in Oregon when they were just starting out
I have one picture of myself that I really like but it's a little risque.
Believe me I am fully dressed in the picture below even though it
may seem that I am not. I'm actually wearing a tube top
6. I love to eat a lot of chicken and salads. If I did not have to fix red
red meat because my husband loves red meat I would eat chicken
every day whether it was fried or baked or just in a salad.
7. I have two tattoo's. One only my husband see's and the other is on
my ankle. The one that no one else gets to see is a tribute to my
mother where I wear it close to my heart. So now that I have shared about me I have to award this award to 15
other bloggers.
4. Blessed on the Bright Side
5. craftin and stampin
I think all these bloggers are pretty versatile.
Don't forget we start a new challenge over at Hiding In My Craft Room
tomorrow be sure to stop in. Also you have till the end of the month to
post your creation over at Lets Ink It Up
Until my next post Have a Splendid day!!!!!

One more tag

Hello Blog World,
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. I'm sorry that I'm posting
this blog a little late in the day today. I like most make plans as to how
I would like for my week to go but life always seems to get in the way
and turns all your planning upside down. Sunday night our fridge went
out so monday I spent my day looking at new fridges. By the time I found
one that fit us and got it home it was afternoon. Because I wasn't really
sure when the fridge went out I tossed some things that can be very
dangerous if not kept cold. I then had to go grocery shopping all over
again to replace what I threw away. This month became very costly and
it's just the beginning of the month. Ouch! Now I'm kind of back on track
so here I am. In my header picture is another tag that I made using a tissue
paper technique. It was a little hard for me to get a good picture of it
because it has a real shine to it. Hope you like it as much as I do. Below
is another picture of it with a little less glare.
Please remember that I would like for you to join in the challenges. Hiding In My Craft Room is hosting a " Monochramatic Green " Challenge.
