New beginnings

Hello Fellow Bloggers,
Hope everyone is doing well. I hope that you're at least
doing better than me. I have several things to talk about
today so I will apologize now for being long winded.
As you see in my picture above I have finally gotten
around to changing my blog and Etsy shop name. Some
time ago I had talked about doing this, well I finally got it
done. My new shop name and blog name are now Paper
Sewn Visions. I had been toying with this for a while
and finally decided that this new name reflected the
type of crafting I do. My blog also has a new look as
you can see. Hope you all like it.
I had planned to get all of this done this weekend but
once again life just got in the way. I had forgotten about
my adopted granddaughters dane recital and had to be
at that on saturday. There went some of that day.
Marions Dance number

Now here comes the worst of this past weekend. I spent a good
portion of sunday at the ER with my husband. While he was
trying to get the lawn mower working he cut his hand it
required stitches. Ok before I go any further I need to let you
know that to get to an ER here it is at least a 25 minute drive
north or south for us. As we were waiting for his prescription
our son calls us and as he got the lawn mower going and was
cutting the grass he got stung. Well our son is deathly
allergic to wasps. We high tailed it home. He had already
done what the doctor had told him to do and that was to mark
the area with a pen and put the time down. Watch that the
swelling or redness didn't get worse. Things were fine
for the rest of the evening.
My husbands stitches

This morning our son wakes up
with severe pain and the redness and swelling have gotten
worse and his skin feels really hot to the touch so another
25 minute trip today to the walk in clinic today. All I can
say is will it ever stop? Probably not, thats life. So hopefully
tomorrow I can get the rest of the things done that I need
to get done. We'll see, Until my next post Have a Splendid
Day!!!!!!!!!

HIMCR Challenge #56

Good Morning Fellow Bloggers,
Hope everyone is doing well. I've been away for a bit
and that's because on tuesday I got bit by something not
sure what. I felt something crawling on my arm and then
felt like a sting I flung it off but didn't get a look at what
it was. My arm has hurt the rest of the week and the more
I used my arm the more it hurt clear to my wrist. I did find
a sliver type thing where I was bit or stung, got it pulled out
and now the arm is starting to feel better. So I didn't get
much done other than the housework this week. In my
Header picture is what I came up with for this weeks
challenge over at HIMCR. Challenge # 56 this week is
Mix it Up Christmas in July.

The fireplace and chair were done with my cricut. The
gifts and the and greenry are done with punches. The
tree is a rubber stamp that was fussy cut. A paper lace
doily was used for the skirt of the tree. This not the
typical stair step card as you can see. As most of you
know me by now and I do things outside the box...lol
Ok enough about the card.
We would be so very happy if you joined in. The design
team has created some beautiful projects for inspiration.

all in the pear. I think it gave the pear dimension. Hope
you like it. So let's see those layers and remember

Two or More fold card

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are all doing well. We have been dealing with
thunderstorms and in one instance we had such a down
pour of rain that created a mess around town. I'll get to that
story a little later. For now I'm going to tell you about my
card. I found a card that was made like this while looking
on Pinterest. There I was directed to the sight that gave a
tutorial on how to make it. If you would like to learn how
follow the link below:
So using this tutorial I made my card. Pictures below
are what the inside looks like.

Because this post is a little long I will post my card recipe
at a later date.

I'm going to enter this card over at Christmas Crafting
Challenge Blog. Callenge #13 Two or More Folds

Ok so now onto our crazy weather. Below is a few
pictures of our alley that now looks like a dried up
stream. We have been having thunderstorms nightly
and one of those storms brought a real heavy down pour.

Our town is a small town and we do have some storm
drains but the down pour was much more than they could
handle. With all these thunder storms we make sure that
we shut off all our computers and unplug them just to make
sure that if we have a power surge that they won't get
ruined. Tomorrow they are calling for thunderstorms all
day. So we'll see when I turn my pc back on. We did have
trouble with our cable and interenet service one day so
I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Now don't forget that there is still time to get your projects
into the challenges over at HIMCR.

Crafting in the Kitchen

Hello Everyone,
Hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. My
weekend was not so relaxing. In my header picture is
just a couple of jars of apricot preserves that I made. So
I guess you can say that I was being a little crafty in the
kitchen. A friend of ours picked up some apricots and
cherries earlier in the week and gave them to my
husband to bring home. My husband wanted some
apricot preserves so I got some done for him. As to
the cherries, well they are just about all gone they were
so good that we just kept eating away at them.

Apricot Preserves Recipe:
1 kg, or 2 lbs plus a few more apricots, of fresh apricots
1 1/3 cups of granulated sugar (see notes below)
1/4 cup water
2 Tbs freshly squeezed lemon juice

Melt the sugar and water in the pan. Bring to a boil, then
simmer until clear and slightly syrupy. (Watch the pot at
this stage or you might end up with a potful of hard
crystallized sugar!) Carefully sort and wash the apricots.
Halve them and discard the pits, making sure to get
rid of the stem end. (To them I just rip them apart
with my fingers - far easier than cutting them with a
knife.)

Put about half of the apricots in the sugar syrup and
simmer until the fruit is almost falling apart. Put in
the rest of the apricots and continue simmering until
they are almost falling apart, but not quite. The
whole procedure will take about an hour or more,
depending on how soft your apricots were to start with.
Skim the foamy looking stuff off the top and toss.
Then fill jars. This recipe will only make to pints. Seal
jars and hot bathe I used this recipe but I quadrupled it.

Bi-monthly tag swap

Hello Everyone,
Hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend and some
fun. I bet you were wondering what I would show you today.
In my header picture is a couple of tags that I made for the tag
swap that Velma Griffen hosts. In my header picture is my
two tags that I created. As many of you know it was kind of
a bad month for me in June and  because I had already
committed to the tag swap at the very beginning of June
I had to go with simple and quick. The first tag I used my
embossing folder and and then distressed it. I stamped a
little sentiment at the bottom. The next tag I guess you  could
say I took my anger out on it by crumpling it in my hand
then I distressed it too. I used a couple of stamps (a butterfly,
some antique roses and the vintage lady) I cut out some badges
and ovals with my cricut. I added a ribbon rose and ther you
have it.

I want to remind everyone that tomorrow starts a new challenge
over at HIMCR so please join us.
Over at LIIU there is some time to join in there.
I will have an annoucement about something new going on
with me and designing. Enjoy your weekend everyone.
Be safe. Until my next post Have a Splendid Day!!!!!

Paper bag mini

Hello Everyone,
Hope you are all doing well. I am busy trying to stay cool
and get all my housework done before it gets to warm. A
while back I started to show you another of the paper bag
mini albums that I had created when life threw me a
sucker punch and I didn't get to posting the rest of the
mini. So here it is with a few more of the pages and one
or two redone because I wasn't happy with the way it
looked. In my header picture is the cover. Below is a
couple of pages with tags  for journaling and places for
pictures. I tried to stay with four colors in similar but
varying in shades.

My colors are Pink, Green, Kraft, and Cream

Some of the tags have a sentiment pertaining to memories.
In the picture above shows the corners that I placed to
hold pictures.

There are so many tags that I put in this mini in several
different sizes. Below is the inside of the back cover.
I have a few more mini albums that are done also. I will post
those at a later date.
Now since this mini is pretty girlish I wanted to remind you
of some of the challenges that are going on.

Good Afternoon Fellow Bloggers,
I hope eveyone is doing well and staying cool. It's been
very warm over in our neck of the woods lately. I'm lucky
that we do have air conditioners. We have a total of three

sons room. My craft space / extra room has none so I have
been working where ever I can find a cool spot and have
a mess that won't need to be put away every day. I have
been crafting. In my header picture is a card that I made
